Effective leadership must be restored to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. Mike Baker will restore effective leadership by leading through example, refocusing on the mission of the Sheriff’s Office, and increasing deputy retention through better employee training, counseling, and recognition.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office was once the leader in inmate and employee programs. Mike Baker will work to restore programs such as the Jail Dog Program and the Veteran’s Program and he will maximize the annual operating budget to optimize the existing and potential capabilities of the Sheriff’s Office.
Public safety must be a priority for the citizens of Gwinnett County and the Sheriff’s Office is essential to achieving that safety. Mike Baker will work for better relationships with the District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement agencies within and around Gwinnett County to ensure the active pursuit of the criminal element to ensure public safety.
